Have you cried too?

There was a little boy and a little girl at Phobjikha and they are orphans. They don't know where their parents are and all they have is their uncle who is a dunkard. He hardly takes care of these two siblings. I am deeply disheartened by the situation of these two siblings. I cried every time I see their story and it is also disgusting to see how the people around are rather cruel to them.

The little boy goes to the school and while he is at school, his sister is left all alone in their home. The school teachers have a lot of opportunities to understand their situation and look after them but they never even dared to ask about his condition back at home, his shabby looks don't even concern them. Their uncle could be their good guardian because they are well disciplined nieces and nephews but he rather loves his alcohol. The little boy has to go around picking bottles to sell and earn money to buy groceries for him and his little sister. He is a brilliant student but his family condition makes him focus on so many things at such a tender age. One day, these two siblings went to their uncle to ask about their parent’s whereabouts but their uncle is too reluctant to tell their parent’s address to them saying they cannot find their parents anyway. Sometimes, when they are lucky they meet with kind villagers who offer them free rice and groceries but  most of the time, the little boy has to do so many things to keep their stomach full.

Why has nobody in the village noticed them and taken care of them? Nobody did anything to them and even their biological uncle is not in a state to look after them. I cried my heart out when I saw  it for myself. I know I have a weak heart but their story will leave you dejected too. In the midst of their sorrowful life, he lost his sister’s life, leaving him all alone once again. He cried, prayed and left helpless. All he thought was if he could have taken care of his sister without never attending his studies. His uncle became remorseful but the little boy no longer believed in him and left in search of his parents.

The little boy has struggled so much in his life and at last when he finally meets with his parents, he just wants to say that he has gone through so much. He told his parents how his sister could be saved if they were there for them. He just wanted to see how they look but never wanted to stay with them. I cried so much watching them suffer and I was so helpless. It is not a real life story but a movie directed by a Bhutanese director and I cried every time I watched this movie. I know you must have thought of lending your helping hand if this is a real life story, lol but just guess the movie and that's it. I am writing it because I recently watched this movie again and found it to be really a masterpiece.

You should watch it too, if you haven't yet.
