Good leadership
In a book Dawa, the stray dog by a Bhutanese author, there is a reflection on human beings who cannot be trusted. Growing up, one of my favourite thoughts has been that one. The diversity of people can make us both win and lose in life. Perhaps one lesson I have learned is that if we do not guard our intentions carefully, people may take advantage of them. Becoming too friendly with people can also hurt us in the end. While we choose trust and peace, others may sometimes take advantage of that trust and respond with betrayal. Leadership is much the same. Just as people are different, leaders come in many forms. Some possess a powerful presence and command respect simply through their aura, while others may have little presence at all, even with the face of Yama, the god of Death. I believe true leadership lies somewhere between kindness and firmness. Being approachable does not mean being permissive, and being flexible does not mean allowing people to cross boundaries.
